Thursday looks like the best bet this week, with a long-period NW swell (11.3s on Sunday suggests a similar pulse arriving mid-week) and winds that ease off compared to the messy onshore stretch earlier in the week. It's a mixed bag overall: onshore most days, a brief cross-shore window Thursday–Friday, then onshore again by the weekend. Wear a 3/2 minimum; water temp data isn't available this week but September in the Landes means you'll feel it.

Beginners. La Sud has something workable Monday and Friday, when wave heights drop to waist-high and the wind is lightest. Skip Wednesday: 1.7m sets with onshore chop isn't the place to be learning. Thursday's cross-shore wind makes it manageable if you're comfortable, but Monday morning is the cleaner intro session.

Intermediate. La Centrale is worth checking Thursday, when the swell holds around shoulder height and the wind shifts cross-shore from the north. It won't be perfect, but it's the tidiest window of the week. Avoid Tuesday and Wednesday: onshore and building, with short-period swell making things lumpy.

Experienced. Wednesday has the size (up to 1.8m, shoulder to head) but a 7-second period and onshore NNW wind means it'll be messy. If you're happy picking through the chop, it's surfable at La Gravière around low tide (10:47). Thursday drops back to shoulder-high but cleans up a touch. Sunday's data shows a longer period swell (11.3s) building in, which could set up a decent start to the following week.

Friday's the standout. A swell pulse pushes wave heights up to 4–5m, and even if the wind isn't offshore, it's light enough to keep things manageable. The first half of the week is small and onshore throughout, so don't rush to the beach before Thursday. No water temp data this week; August in the Bay of Biscay, so you're fine in a shorty or boardshorts.

Beginners (La Sud): Monday through Thursday are your days. Knee-to-thigh waves with a light onshore breeze, nothing scary. Friday and Saturday are too big for La Sud. Stick to the early morning sessions before the sea breeze builds.

Not a great week. Wind is onshore every single day, which takes most of the shine off what could otherwise be a decent early-July swell. Monday's data is incomplete, so work from Tuesday onwards. Tuesday has the most size (up to 3m max at La Gravière), but it's messy and blown out. Things calm down as the week goes on, but so does the swell. Water temp data isn't available this week; it's summer, so a 3/2 or even a shorty should be fine.

Friday's the one this week. A big SE offshore wind cleans things up just as the swell peaks, with sets running 2.4–3.7m. The rest of the week is onshore and messy, so patience is the play. No water temp data this week; a 3/2 should be fine for June, but bring a 4/3 if you run cold.

Beginners (La Sud): Monday offers the most manageable window of the early week, with chest-to-head sets and very light wind. It'll be bumpy but not blown out. Tuesday through Thursday the onshore picks up and La Sud gets choppy. Sit those out.
